Patrol vessels for the Philippines
MTU will power the future flagship of the Philippine Coast Guard: MTU France is delivering a total of ten engines of Series 4000 and 2000 to the French shipyard OCEA which will build five new patrol vessels for the Philippine Coast Guard.
Among those is a 84 m long Offshore Patrol Vessel – the largest ship that OCEA has ever built.
It is powered by two 16V 4000 M73 engines. MTU is also supplying the automation system Blue Vision New Generation for the vessel.
OCEA convinced the customer with a competitive and environmentally friendly concept: Thanks to efficient engines and an aluminum hull, the OPV will emit 40% less CO2 than comparable vessels.
OCEA will also built four Fast Patrol Boats (FPB 72) with two 10V 2000 M72 MTU engines each for the Philippine Coast Guard.
