Honeywell is engaging with the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) over a potential programme to upgrade the service’s Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules transport aircraft, a Honeywell official has confirmed to Jane’s .

The plan features a number of advanced Honeywell systems as well as a proposal to boost cost savings through a bespoke performance-based logistics (PBL) package, said Tim Van Luven, Honeywell Aerospace’s vice president for defence aftermarket sales in the Asia-Pacific region.

“The mission enhancements and upgrades that Honeywell can provide for the C-130 are a cost-effective way for the RMAF to increase the safety, mission-readiness and reliability of this aircraft, while extending its platform life,” said Van Luven.
