The official visit of the frigates HQ 015 - Tran Hung Dao of the navy to some Asian countries is receiving positive evaluation of military analysts, because of the special combat capability of the warship.
Starting from the morning of 15/9 at the port of Cam Ranh, Navy Region 4 held off 015 - Tran Hung Dao of 162 brigade to make official visits to some countries in Asia - Pacific.
During this mission, 015 - Tran Hung Dao will visit Japan, Korea and participate in ASEAN maritime exercises.
According to the schedule, 015 ships with representatives of the Navy of Vietnam will visit and exchange with the Japanese Navy at Yokosuka base, Kangawa province and Sakai city, Osaka Prefecture.
Next, the 015 will attend the international marauding ceremony at Jeju Naval Base South Korea and finally the ASEAN Maritime Rehabilitation Exercise - in Zhanjiang, China.
015 took two weeks to make a new sea voyage to Yokosuka, Japan on September 27th.
This is also the first time a Vietnamese warship has crossed over 5000 nautical miles to reach the country of sunrise.
Compared to many types of frigate or destroyers serving in the Japanese navy, it is possible to consider Vietnam's 015 - Tran Hung Dao as a battleship with almost equal firepower even though it was just an escort.
Being the 3rd Guards Gepard missile of the Vietnamese Navy, 015 - Tran Hung Dao was only joined by the Navy in late 2017.
Like the other Gepard 3.9 missile defense vessels, the 015 is 102.1 meters long, 5.3 meters high and 13 meters wide. Maximum tonnage of 2100 tons.
The maximum speed that the 015 can achieve is 30 knots and has a 45-day journey reserve. It is equipped with a wide range of radar and fire control radios ranging from 150 to 450 km range depending on the type.
Weapons onboard 015 include the Kh-35 destroyer, AK-176M artillery, AK-630M high-speed artillery, CIWS Palma rockets and 53-65 ASUW torpedo.
