New prospect of cooperation and Development in Indonesia

"Ukroboronprom" presented the latest developments and capabilities of the Ukrainian defense industry at the international exhibition of defense technologies Indo Defense 2018, which ended on November 10. Taking into account the new prospects on the South East Asian market, in view of US sanctions on Russian arms purchasers (CAATSA), a number of key meetings with heads of foreign companies and defense departments took place during the exhibition, during which agreements were reached on the significant expansion of military-technical cooperation.

Thus, in the framework of the international forum, Pavlo Bukin, Director General of the Ukroboronprom, had talks with Air Marshal Hadiyan Sumintaatmadja, Secretary General Ministry of Defence of Indonesia. The sides discussed the current state of development of bilateral relations in the field of military-technical cooperation. During the meeting, the Indonesian Ministry of Defense emphasized the need for further strengthening of military-technical cooperation between Kyev and Jakarta.

State Company Ukrspetsexport, part of the State Enterprise "Ukroboronprom", has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with one of the leading Indonesian companies on cooperation on the promotion of armored personnel carriers in the South Asian region. The document was signed in the presence of the representative of the Naval Forces of the Republic of Indonesia.

Ukrinmash, a participating company of the Concern, met with the command of the defense departments of Indonesia, during which the Indonesian side announced the plan to buy a batch of Ukrainian assault rifles, and also expressed interest in radars, in particular counter-battery, UAV, and air assets of electronic warfare.

In the framework of the Indo Defense 2018, a meeting was also held with Commander of the Naval Forces of Indonesia Admiral Siwi Sukma Adji. In particular, it spoke about the prospects of localization of the production of armored vehicles and anti-tank missile systems in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia.

In turn, during negotiations with the representatives of the Air Forces of Indonesia, issues of repair of aircraft engines, supplies of aviation armament and military transport aircraft produced by the Antonov State Air Company were discussed. In addition, the Indonesian side expressed its interest in continuing cooperation on the maintenance of aircraft Su-27/30.
