Stride Deploys Aerostat for Surveillance
The Science & Technology Research Institute for Defence (STRIDE) has deployed its Security Camera Team to man its locally developed aerostat based surveillance system to the Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace (LIMA) 2019 show to assist the overall security measures taken at the Langkawi International Airport (LIA) where the air segment was held.
This has been one of the few event where the system has been deployed to provide wide area surveillance for security forces.
The last time it was utilised was during the South East Asia (SEA) Games held in Kuala Lumpur in 2017.
