The Philippine delegation to Czech Republic for the inaugural Joint Defense Committee (JDC) in Prague from May 6 to 9 visited several Czech defense industry manufacturing sites.

Defense Undersecretary Cardozo M. Luna headed the delegation and co-chaired the JDC meeting with Czech Defense Vice Minister Jakub Landovský.

Ambassador [Ombra T.] Jainal  joined most of the industry visits for follow-up action,” the Philippine Embassy in Czech said.

Moreover, during the JDC meeting, Philippines and Czech discussed prospects of further enhancing bilateral defense cooperation, exchanged information on plans for the development of armed forces, discussed potential joint defense industrial projects, as well as exchanged views on security situation in Europe and Southeast Asia.

The Philippines and Czech signed a Defense Cooperation agreement on May 29, 2017.
