Thai Navy Selects S-100 UAV

As the Navy has an invitation letter for Purchased 1 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system. Specifically, the selected candidates were Schiebel Aircraft GmbH. 

By bidding in total amount 26,660,490.00 baht including VAT and other taxes, transportation costs, registration fees and other expenses, all announced on 24 September 2019.

Notice of the Royal Thai Navy Procurement Agency Thai Navy for the purchase of 1 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV: Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) from Schiebel Aircraft GmbH, Austria, for a total of 266,602,490 baht ($ 8,726,832.61).

There is still no information on what type of UAV will be provided, and how many aircraft the system will contain. One of the main production of the Schiebel Austria is the VTOL UAS (Vertical Takeoff and Landing Unmanned Air System) type CAMCOPTER S-100.

Which the S-100 can be used to operate from surface ships that have a limited flight deck of the navy. It is understood that DTI RTN KSM150 developed by Kasama Helicopters Company Limited was not actually chosen due to the noise and flying performance being too low.
