The images published on Burma's online social media show images of Chengdu Aircraft Industry Corporation (CAC)/Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) JF-17 Thunder Chinese/Pakistan of the Myanmar Air Force (Tatmadaw Lay) on the ground and while flying in the air equipped with various weapons on the plane. Confirms that the Myanmar Air Force is ready to practice the use of these weapons with the aircraft.
There are 16 JF-17M fighter jets and plans to open production lines in Myanmar. There was a delivery ceremony on the 71st day of the establishment of the Myanmar Air Force on 15 December 2018.Appeared in a publicity video showing the short-range air-to-air missile PL-5EII with infrared heat, medium-range air-to-air missile SD-10A (PL-12 export model China) guided with active radar and C-802AK anti-surface guided missile weapons.
The JF-17 can be equipped with two short range air-to-air missiles the PL-5EII, with 16km firing range in two wing-tip weapons, and two medium-range air-to-air missiles SD-10A, firing range 70-100km. While the Air Force's C-802AK launches its first anti ship air-to-surface missile. That is a very serious threat to the country's navy that has an area of control over the sea by air over the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea.
The picture set also shows the two-seat fighter aircraft JF-17B No. 1707. The Burma Air Force is conducting training at night. Which is the same machine that has photos from the airport, CAC aircraft factory in Chengdu, China showing that Myanmar is a first export customer for the two-seat JF-17B fighter aircraft formerly the JF-17/FC-1 fighter, Pakistan-China has developed a single seat version.
