UMS "Moattama" LPD of the Myanmar Navy Arrived in Vladivostok on its First Visit

VLADIVOSTOK/ TASS / - The landing helicopter carrier dock ship "Moattama" of the Myanmar Navy arrived in Vladivostok on its first ever visit. This was reported to reporters on Saturday in the press service of the Eastern Military District for the Pacific Fleet.



“Today, the first helicopter carrier ship dock (LPD) of the Moattama of the Republic of Myanmar’s naval forces arrived in Vladivostok with the first ever business trip. Traditionally, girls in Russian national costumes presented bread and salt to guests,” the press service said adding that the ship-master of the visit is the Sovershennyy corvette (Steregushchy-class for the Russian Navy



The campaign is led by the commander of the second fleet of the Navy of Myanmar, Captain 1st Rank Thane Tha. An exchange of visits between the crews of the Pacific Fleet and Myanmar ships is planned. Guests will visit the Museum of the Pacific Fleet and the memorial submarine S-56.



On the pier next to the State flag of Russia and St. Andrew’s flag, the flag of the Republic of Myanmar was hoisted during the visit. It is planned that the LPD "Moattama" will leave Vladivostok on November 4.
