Marines of the Pacific Fleet showed sailors of the Philippines Navy landing on the coast

During the visit, about 100 members of the Philippine Navy visited the Ermine Ground Marine Corps. Major General Dmitry Kovalenko, Deputy Commander of the Pacific Fleet Coastal and Ground Forces, told Captain 1st Rank Florente Narola Gagua, commander of the National Navy operational formation, about the history of the creation of the Marine Corps in the Pacific Ocean, the tasks of the Marines and the principles of selection for service.

“An episode of the landing of an amphibious assault on an unequipped coast during which the new BTR-82A simulated a float from a large landing ship and an approach to the coast was presented to the guests at the training ground. Also, Filipino sailors were shown how the marines supported by armored personnel carriers using small arms and grenade launchers, fights on the defensive, marines passing an obstacle course and practicing hand-to-hand combat," Voskresensky said.

The Filipinos tested their strength on the obstacle course and trained in firing from standard models of small arms of Pacific Fleet marines. The guests were also shown samples of modern military equipment of the coastal fleet troops.
